Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Daffodil Convention which was to be held in Canberra from 17-21 September has been cancelled. However, the HSOC is still intending to hold its Spring Bulb and Camellia Show from 18-20 September.
The Society was formed in 1929. Initially it aimed to foster the spirit of gardening in Australia’s very new national capital so that Canberra might become a ‘garden city’. The Society has been involved in many activities over the years including: seed distribution to members, planning the National Rose Garden, garden and flower competitions, public talks and floral displays, as well as the present day Shows, Bruce Demonstration Garden, and production of The Canberra Gardener.
Join us for a little light work at our monthly Working Bee at the Bruce Demonstration Garden. Meet other members, have morning tea and a chat, and see what's happening in the garden. Come and go as convenient. For insurance purposes, only members can participate.Find out more »
